INCREASE OF MONTHLY AND DAILY WAGE – YEAR 2022

The National Council for Minimum Wage (CONASAM) has submitted its technical report, through Act No. 005/2022, resulting from the session held on June 13, 2022, which provides “to establish a readjustment of the current legal minimum wage for various unspecified activities as well as activities expressly determined, applying a 11.4% increase”, to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MTESS) which in turn reported to the Executive Branch to further authorize, by Decree N° 7270/2022, the 11.4% increase on the current amount of salaries and minimum wages for the private sector, effective July 1, 2022.

In accordance with Law 5764, consideration for increasing the minimum wage should be carried out by the Executive Branch upon proposal by the National Council of Minimum Wages (Conasam), based on the interannual variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and its impact in the national economy, as of June of each year.

Therefore, the minimum wage as of said date will reach the amount of PYG 2,550,307 (Two million five hundred and fifty thousand three hundred and seven Guarani), equivalent to about USD 365 and the minimum daily wage PYG 98,089 (Ninety-eight thousand eighty-nine Guarani), about USD 14.
