BKM | Berkemeyer advises Raízen on the acquisition of 50% of Barcos y Rodados SA’ shares, a milestone on the return of Shell’s to Paraguay

The acquisition of 50% of the shares of the Paraguayan company Barcos y Rodados SA by Raízen SA (joint venture between the Brazilian group Cosan and Royal Dutch Shell) was formalized on November 1st, which meant the return of the Shell emblem to Paraguay after almost 15 years.

The BKM | Berkemeyer team, headed by Hugo T. Berkemeyer and formed by Milena Sljivich, Hugo Aponte, Vivian Maldonado, Mauro Mascareño, Yolanda Pereira and Carla Sosa, advised Raízen SA on the implementation of Paraguayan laws for contractual, corporate, environmental, regulatory, labor and tax issues, with respect to the process of acquiring the shares of the Ortega Echeverría brothers, who maintain their 50% participation in the total capital stock of Barcos y Rodados SA.
