The Ministry of Public Works and Communications of Paraguay has recently called new international public tenders

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has recently called the following tenders:

(i) INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC BID FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXECUTIVE PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE PRIMARY AREA OF THE PARAGUAYAN SIDE ACCESS TO THE SECOND BRIDGE OVER THE PARANA RIVER BETWEEN THE LOCALITIES OF PRESIDENTE FRANCO AND FOZ DE IGUAZU. ID No. 402,487.

This tender is part of the works of the Eastern Metropolitan Corridor, and basically consists of the construction of cargo and migration control buildings in this border area where the bridge has made significant progress.

The estimated amount of the tender is expected to be Gs. 57,190,035,702, an equivalent to approximately USD 8,283,822.26. The type of contract is at unit prices.

Individuals, legal entities and national and/or foreign consortia, domiciled or not in the Republic of Paraguay, may participate as bidders. This call allows the use of several nominated subcontractors to meet the requirements required by the evaluation criteria of specific experience in works as long as each of them performs a different service, they may be individuals or national or foreign companies , and several bidders may nominate the same subcontractor

Offer Delivery Date: Thursday, November 25, 2021 – 09:00.

It is expected to grant a financial advance of 15% of the amount of the Contract payable as follows: 5% after the issuance of the Start Order for the development of the final design and 10% with the approval of the final design and the issuance of the Start Order for the construction stage.

 (ii) INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC BID FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXECUTIVE PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE ANNP FREIGHT TERMINAL IN THE CITY OF PRESIDENTE FRANCO. ID 402.399.

This call is part of the framework and specific agreement signed this year between the Ministry of Public Works and the National Administration of Navigation and Ports (ANNP) with the aim of working together to strengthen integrated border control, specifically in access to the Integration Bridge that is being built with Brazil.

The estimated cost of the call is Gs. 51,588,733,281, an equivalent to approximately USD 7,472,488.73.

Individuals, legal entities and national and/or foreign consortiums domiciled or not in the Republic of Paraguay may participate as bidders, the figure of the nominated subcontractor is not included, but subcontracting of the works is allowed up to 20% of the total amount of the contract.

Offer Delivery Date: Friday, November 26, 2021 – 13:30.

It is expected to grant a financial advance of 20% of the amount of the Contract, payable within 10 calendar days after the signing of the Contract.

The services required in both tenders involve two stages: i) the development of the executive project and ii) the construction stage.

Both contracts will be administered by the MOPC Highway Department and are called AD REFERENDUM TO THE BUDGETARY REPROGRAMMING.
